A restaurant website costs between €990 excl. VAT for a ready-to-wear site online in a week and €12,000 excl. VAT for a group site with several addresses, booking, online ordering and a franchise area. An independent restaurant usually lands between €2,500 and €6,000 excl. VAT.
Here are the ranges by type of venue, what moves the price, and the three lines quotes most often leave out.
The ranges, by type of venue
| Venue | Price excl. VAT | Lead time | What goes in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Café, coffee shop, bakery | €990 to €2,500 | 1 to 3 weeks | Menu, hours, address, Google reviews |
| Independent restaurant | €2,500 to €6,000 | 4 to 6 weeks | Editable menu, booking, photography, local SEO |
| Fine dining | €6,000 to €12,000 | 6 to 10 weeks | Art direction, bespoke photography, multilingual menus |
| Group or franchise | €8,000 to €20,000 | 2 to 4 months | Multi-address, franchise hub, employer brand |
French market ranges for the second half of 2026, excluding photography and excluding subscriptions to booking tools.
What moves the price
- The number of addresses. Two venues means two Google profiles, two pages, two menus to keep current. It is the first price factor.
- The menu. A PDF menu costs nothing and does nothing for Google. A menu editable from the admin, readable on a phone and understood by search engines, is real development work.
- Photography. The most decisive line, and the one most often missing from quotes. Half a day of shooting costs between €600 and €1,500 and changes how the place is perceived more than the design does.
- Connections. Booking, online ordering, delivery, till: each tool plugged in is priced, and some impose their own monthly subscription.
- Languages. Essential in a tourist area, pointless elsewhere. To decide before the quote, not after.
The three lines quotes leave out
- Who updates the menu. A winter menu still online in June costs covers. If nobody is named, it will happen.
- The Google profile. The website does not replace the profile: the two answer each other. Hours, photos and reviews have to match.
- Maintenance. Between €40 and €120 excl. VAT a month for updates, backups and security.
Ready-to-wear or bespoke
For a first address, a café or a bakery, a ready-to-wear restaurant website at €990 excl. VAT covers the essentials: editable menu, booking and delivery links, Google reviews, online in a week. For a house with an identity to defend, several addresses or a franchise plan, bespoke is justified, because the site becomes a commercial tool and not just a shop window.
Frequently asked questions
Does a restaurant still need a website when it has Instagram?
Yes. Instagram shows, but it answers neither “open on Sunday?” nor “do you have a gluten-free option?” nor “table for eight”. And Google does not rank an Instagram account for “Italian restaurant Batignolles”.
Do I have to pay commission on bookings?
Not necessarily. A link to your own booking tool from your own site keeps the customer with you. Platforms bring visibility but take a commission and keep the relationship.
How much does photography cost?
Between €600 and €1,500 excl. VAT for half a day with a food photographer. It is the best value of the whole project.
How long until the site is live?
One week for a ready-to-wear site. Four to six weeks for a bespoke one, photography included if it has to be produced.
